This acrylic  painting was an inspired when I came across an image of the original work by a Yukon Native artist Nathalie Parenteau , of Whitehorse It inspired me to create my own interpretation and the result is shown here.

I created my own colour palate for the work and enjoyed the challenge of creating the subtle transitions of tone that appear in this, my final version of the original

work.

Of course there is a lot to be learned as a new artist by studying the work of other more established painters ... and I think the best way of acquiring knowledge that may add to my own skills is to not just copy a work, but by re-creating it in my own way.
